About Me
My name is Grant Charles Chaput, and I am a composer, writer, and musical entrepreneur, currently based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
I have something of a bifurcated background with conservatory training in both percussion and composition from the University of Redlands, School of Music in Redlands, California and the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, as well as extensive business experience in sales, marketing, client relationships, and product development.
My choral and chamber music has been performed on both sides of the Atlantic and in Africa. I have helped raise in excess $100 million for unique investment products. I feel equally at home in Europe as I do in the USA.
This bifurcated experience has taught me valuable lessons and gives me a unique perspective. My goal is to share this perspective with ensembles, conductors, composers, performers, music educators, students, development professionals, and others involved in the creation and consumption of classical music. I want to use my music and my insights to help invigorate the classical music world, to keep our students involved in the arts after graduation, to grow our audiences, to help arts organizations better tell their ROI stories, and to work with the community to re-imagine the world of classical music.
I write music, I write about music, and I help individuals and organizations overcome obstacles with entrepreneurial experience and insights. If you are interested in working with me in any capacity or have any questions, please contact me.
You can hear a few samples of my music here. If you are interested in a more extensive list of my works and/or performing any of it, please contact me. I am also available for commissions, orchestrations, and other work.
