Question of the Week: Do classical performances in bars work?

There has been quite a bit of news lately about groups taking classical music into bars and other unorthodox venues.  So, what do you think?  Does it work or does it somehow diminish the music?  What are the pros/cons?  What else?

Classical Bars

Please share your thoughts in the comments below. I’ll be collecting them all and doing a post highlighting the best points before next week’s question.  Hopefully by putting our heads together we can come up with some real innovative thought.
